At BAKER WOODCRAFT, the materials are manufactured to fit into a 10-foot by 20-foot matrix. This allows us to Mass Produce the structural members so as to lower the retail price as much as possible.

Once the material is cut and prepped, it goes to the paint department where it is coated with a high quality paint or tinted sealer. By painting or sealing before assembly, the members are coated entirely to give maximum protection where members come in contact with each other. This is the key to longevity.

You have three (3) materials from which to build your PATIO COVER: California Redwood, Douglas Fir and Alumawood (wood grain embossed Aluminum structural members).

California Redwood offers the shear beauty of rustic timbers with its golden tans and salmon colors. Its durable and stable qualities make it resistant to warping and splitting, unlike the wet Firs which are often used. The chemistry within the wood gives it resistance to insects and deterioration from rain and soil decay.

Dried Douglas Fir has a tinsel strength of 50% greater than redwood. We use pre-dried wood which eliminates the warping and splitting seen with green lumber. We apply a solid color stain of your choosing.

Alumawood is strong, long-lasting, low maintenance aluminum with a richly textured wood-grain finish. The weather resistant Aluma-Shield paint finish withstands the harshest conditions, including sun, rain, wind, and extreme temperatures.
